Heavily damaged during World War I, the Chantilly Golf Club committee commissioned English architect Tom Simpson to renovate the Vineuil course. He built upon the existing holes, removing only two greens, but introduced many changes, including more bunkers and slopes on the greens to add variety and strategic depth. But it was in 1929 that Tom Simpson created seven new holes to complete the layout known as the “Old Course.”
In 1991, Chantilly expanded to 36 holes with the extension of the Longères course from 9 to 18 holes. To achieve this, three new holes (9-10-11) were “added” to the Vineuil course to replace holes 10-11 and 18, which complement the other 15 holes of Les Longères.
At the entrance to the golf course, the driving range covers an area of over 3 hectares with about forty practice stations, four of which are covered. It also features a putting green and the largest Titleist Fitting Center in France.
Very easy to access as it is right across from the clubhouse, the putting green—spanning over 1,500 m²—offers a wide variety of putting setups, from the easiest to the most challenging.
